Is it 12 or 21?

I have been having this problem ever since I can remember. I've notice that whenever it comes to numbers, I tend to fuck up. That's why I don't like math that much. Whenever I need to dictate certain series of numbers, like telephone numbers or serials, I say it slowly, checking to see if the number that's come out of my mouth is what's written down. I also have problems when it comes to dictation or writing. Most of the time, the words I hear or think of isn't the word I write down. Just like what happen as I write this entry, I typed in the word "current" instead of the word "certain". There are also times that I suddenly stop typing just because I need to remember the spelling of the word. Words as simple as "sudden" or spelling". You might be thinking, "How stupid could you be, you can't even spell sudden" or probably you're laugh your ass off while reading it, but it's true, I'm not making this up. But I wish I did. Also, I've notice that I'm not really fond of reading stuffs. I read only because: 1. I like the book (series) 2. Someone close or a friend wrote it. 3. I have to. 4. I have to. and 5. I have to.

While I was growing up I kept wondering why. Why am I experiencing these. And then one day, I found out why. I suffering from what is called Dyslexia. And I found out that I had this by watching TV.( And they said you don't learning anything from watching TV) CSI Miami to be exact. They had this case where a killer when to the wrong house and killed the wrong family just because he wrote down the wrong number.

So I did what any other person would do, surf the internet. Entered "Dyslexia" on google and viola!, 456,000 for dyslexics come up. I found site that show you if you have the Characteristics of a Potential Dyslexic. Out of 44, I got 28. You just check the box so you could know how many characteristics apply to you. Also here are some signs that you are Dyslexic: It is unlikely that you will have all the traits below

  • think people see you as lazy or careless?
  • often see pictures from different places at the same time? *check*
  • have a tendency to daydream? *check*
  • often become disoriented? * check*
  • have trouble reading, writing or spelling? *check**check*
  • have trouble with math? * check**check**check*
  • have trouble expressing yourself? *check*
  • think it's hard to pay attention?
  • find you are often restless and have trouble sitting still?

  • often bump into others while walking down the street? *check*
  • think people see you as careless?
  • get headaches when reading?

What do you know, I got 11. *sigh*

As I continued my research, I found out that there are many "treatments" for this. So many that I don't know which one is going to help me. Most of them are for children, so that means I'm out, definitely out of that picture. I don't know what I'm gonna do with this new discovery about myself. I don't know if I should be happy or mad. I'll just look on the bright, they say that there are famous Dyslexic. There's Albert Einstein, Winston Churchill and Cher. CHER??? Man... I am screwed...

Oh well... I think I better see a doctor or just get myself a t-shirt.
